Frequently Asked Questions

What is a healthy BMI for adults?+
For adults, a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered healthy by the WHO. Below 18.5 is underweight, 25–29.9 is overweight, and 30+ is obese. BMI is a screening tool, not a diagnostic measure.
How much water should I drink per day?+
The general recommendation is 8 glasses (2 litres) per day, but the ideal amount depends on your weight, activity level, and climate. Our water intake calculator gives you a personalised target.
What is the difference between ideal weight and healthy weight range?+
Ideal weight formulas (Hamwi, Devine, Robinson) give a single target number based on height and sex. Healthy weight range is the full BMI 18.5–24.9 band converted to kg — a broader, more realistic goal.
Are these health calculators accurate?+
All calculators use validated clinical formulas (Mifflin-St Jeor, WHO BMI classifications, etc.). They give excellent population-level estimates but cannot replace a clinical examination by a qualified healthcare professional.
